Hello
Hi. I’m Zac, and this is my corner of the internet.
Every version of a blog I’ve had eventually died the same way. I’d build it around some grand plan, post once, and then let it collect dust because the plan didn’t fit the way I actually wanted to write.
This one is simpler. It’s a journal. I write to figure out what I think, and occasionally what I think is worth writing down.
What’s here
A few things:
- /journal: this, obviously. Posts in roughly-reverse order.
- /reading: books I’m reading now, books I’ve finished recently, and books I’ve given five stars over the years. Pulled live from Goodreads at build time.
- /now: a /now page, updated by hand whenever my current obsessions shift.
- /links: a blogroll. Other people’s sites that I read and endorse.
- /uses: gear, software, and stuff I use.
- /changelog: a hand-written log of changes to this site.
- /about and /colophon: self-explanatory.
- [ CRT ]: there’s a button in the top right. Click it.
What this isn’t
No comments. No newsletter. No analytics. No trackers. The whole thing is hand-built, deploys from a git push, and will probably be slightly broken in some new way every time you visit.
If you want to know more about how it’s built, the colophon has the full recipe.
Zac
